Overview: When the Melbourne Museum wanted a        boardwalk deck for their Gallery of Life they wanted a   radially sawn boardwalk. This suited Landscape Architects Taylor and Cullity as they had used radially sawn timber in a number of their successful projects. A sponsorship deal was worked out between Radial Timber Australia and the Museum. Prefabricated panels of the curving deck were constructed  at the Radcon Mill in Yarram and installed on site. Pencil rounded bevelled edge deck was manufactured and used for the first time. Individual boards were tapered to achieve the required curve. Some heavy and dedicated work by Radcon staff and contractors have produced a beautiful boardwalk. The Gallery of Life is due to be opened in December 2000. Additional photos will be added as works are completed.
